In the computer lab on Thursday...

We will be visiting the computer lab on Thursday and going to the site Crayola Digi Color
We are going to be printing our numbers 0-10 and 10-0. We will print our work so be watching for it to come home.

As I walked into my classroom today I was greeted with smiling children holding garbage bags full of empty groceries. I put out the call last week for empty grocery store items and my parents delivered! We needed to decide how to sort all this stuff! We broke it down into boxes, things for the fridge, things you can drink and can/bottles. Then we sorted. We have to buy things in the grocery store, so all our items needed to be priced. I showed the students how to make a dollar sign, gave them some labels and they were off. We have a good deal on cereal, $16.00 for a box! We then discussed how you must make a list to go to the grocery store, have money and take some bags. We even had one little entrepreneur make cards in the writing center to sell in the grocery store! They had a hoot and the learning from this one activity is endless. I LOVE Kindergarten!

We almost got him, but he is too tricky!

In the early morning hours, I snuck into my classroom...would I get the leprechaun this year or would he escape us again? I was ready with my camera, I crawled around the corner and there he was! I took aim, brought him into focus as he was making his way out of our preset trap. I took the picture and the flash from the camera caused me to do the unspeakable...I blinked. You know what happens when you blink...the leprechaun disappears. Yet, again, Lenny the Leprechaun has escaped and our pot of gold with him. We always wondered how he was getting into our classroom, this year we found out how. I caught him before he was able to gather his golden string that he had lowered himself down with from the ceiling, mission impossible style. There is always next year...
In the blink of an eye, he was gone!

Lenny even played one last trick on us before the day was over. He slipped a note under the door when we were in the computer lab and had us gallivanting all over the school following clues and we ended up in our classroom with all kinds of St. Patrick's Day treats. Thank you to a very special leprechaun for these efforts.

In the computer lab today...

We are making leprechaun pictures in the computer lab today using kerpoof.com.

He's back!

Much to our surprise this morning, we found that all of our pencil cases had been hidden! After some serious chaos and searching, they were located in different areas of the room and that was not all! They had been painted with some sort of leprechaun substance and leprechaun strings had been put inside...this has led us to believe that Lenny the Leprechaun is once again back and will most likely be causing more trouble as the week goes on. Further updates to follow!

I wonder...

We have had Leprechaun sightings in the past, I wonder what will happen this week?
