These are so fun!

Today we read the book Sadie and the Snowman and decided to acually make the snowmen from the book. Thank goodness we had two excellent Moms in today who could help us out. Have a look at the snowmen we made below, they are fabulous and the kids were so excited to show them off.
We also logged into the computer lab and went to a very fun site that the kids loved called Tux Paint. It is a free download, you can find it on my sidebar under "Links I Like."

We are going to the computer lab.

Our site
We are off to the computer lab tomorrow. Going to the lab with 20 Kindergarten kids is good in theory, and would be fine if we could just turn the computer on and go...but...we can't. We have to go through a LONG process of logging in with passwords and using the Control Alt Delete keys. Right now, it is painful. But in a few months they will be doing it with no problem. We are visiting the above site tomorrow. Kathy Cassidy is an amazing Grade 1 teacher in Saskatchewan who has developed this little site.

Happy 2010 to you!

We brought 2010 into Kindergarten in style on Tuesday. We began by writing 2010 on our attendance charts. We then grabbed the New Years Hats and noise makers, did a countdown to zero and made a lot of noise and I do mean A LOT of NOISE! We reminisced about days gone by in 2009, things like camping with our families and going to an Edmonton Eskimos game. Goals were set for 2010, including learning to ride a horse, and meeting an adoptive sister from Ethiopia. It was a great day to share with these little people so full of hope and innocence. They have many more New Years countdowns in their futures, and I am just so happy to have spent this one with them. My goal for 2010 is to be the best teacher I can for them and to sing even more!

Let's go back to school!

We start back to school on Tuesday, January 5th. The kids know the routines, they know the expectations, just watch their learning take off in 2010!
